1 Corinthians 6:20 reads, "You have been bought with a price, therefore glorify God with your body." In French, Grand Prix means "great price." It is our philosophy that because God has made each human being special and He has paid a Great Price to allow people to be free from sin, that each moment of our lives should be spend glorifying God with all of our being. This means that wherever we go and whatever we do, we are to glorify God and enjoy our relationship with Him forever. Whether we are at church, at home, or on the soccer field, we should be trying to love God by using the talents He has given to each one of us. The Grand Prix Jesus paid for our lives compels us to live in faith for Him.

Just as there are rules in soccer, there are rules in life. God has said in His Bible that to obey Him is the most important thing. In soccer, if you don’t obey the rules, the referee gives the other team a free kick. But in life, when we don’t obey God, there is a penalty, He is the referee of life. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that everyone has disobeyed God’s rules (sinned) and none of us have lived up to God’s standard. Unfortunately, in life we do not simply receive a free kick against us, the Bible says we deserve death. Romans 6:23 says that when we do not obey God (sin), we earn death. Thankfully though, God loves us. Romans 6:23 also says that the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus.

Romans 5:8 states He does not want any of us to die so much, that He sent His Son Jesus to take our place. Pretend you are the goalkeeper and you must save a penalty kick to save your life. The only problem is that the goal is one mile high and one mile wide and a world cup player is taking the kick. There is no chance for you to save the ball without a lot of help. This is as hopeless as our our life because of sin. Just as in our pretend soccer match, in life, you must rely on the only one who can save the goal: Jesus. The only way to have Jesus save you from the defeat of death, is for you to believe in Jesus. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son (Jesus), and whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

If you believe that Jesus loves you, died to take the place for your sin, and rose from the dead, you can have eternal life. Can you save yourself? It would be like saving the penalty kick on a huge goal. If you are going to be saved, you must rely on Jesus to save you.
